| Bio: | Apparently, one can learn the salient features of a person's character from a few well chosen questions. If I knew what the perfect questions were, I would answer them here. (Or perhaps I wouldn't.) But according to Chris who I met at a party once, the key answers are: 1. My favourite film is The English Patient. (It's a great adaptation of the book, which I love; it has Herodotus, the desert and Italy; the music is lovely.) 2. My favourite book is (so hard to choose!) The Lord of the Rings. Except I think I love it more for the hard work and care that went into it rather than the story particularly. Non-fiction, the Decipherment of Linear B by John Chadwick is enough to make anyone want to learn Greek. (Oops, spoilt the point of the book there.) 3. I think was music. Don't have a favourite song, really. Anything I can play on the piano: my favourite composers are Chopin and Bartok, with latterly some Gershwin thrown in. (Though my hands will have to stretch before I can play all those notes at the same time.) 4. Can't remember. This is why you don't know everything about me. | |||||
